Should I just come over with my c.v and apply to get jobs or keep applying online ?

I am not getting that many responses and I think that since I am still in Canada recruiters and emplyers don't want to bother with me. I have a U.K passport and birth certificate. I really want to come back but thought to play it safe and secure something online. I am registered with a number of recruiters now in the U.K and they have let me know to contact them when I arrive there. Its just like anything - have to be there physically -

Should I just come over with my c.v and apply to get jobs or keep applying online ?
It depends on how much money you have to tide you over until you get a job. I do think however it is best to be in the country to give a better account of yourself.... and anyway, I am sure you would get some temp work while applying for other jobs
Reply:I came to London from Australia and wouldn't have even considered coming here without a job. So many people I know tried that and still had a hard time getting a job once they got here. And in the meantime they were churning through their savings as it is expensive to live in London if you're not earning pounds (actually, expensive to live here even if you earn pounds!).

It depends on what field you're in though. If you're in an international type of field and are looking for work in a big company, they usually don't care whether you're on the ground in the UK or not. They are quite happy to interview you via video link. I applied for lots of jobs and did lots of video link interviews and was offered a job having never set foot in the UK.

If you're in a less progressive field (eg teacher, nurse, trasdeman, barman), you'll probably have to be here to get a job.
Reply:You could just send your CV to company's, asking for vacancy's. via post.
Reply:It is preferable if u contact personally
Reply:you will need, on average, 2 months to find a job once u seriously start hunting (i.e. making 10-20 applications a day) - you also need to be here for all that time as they give preference to those physically here and less of a charge than those far away. i'd really make sure i have my finances ready and apply once i'm here
Reply:I've never ever get a reply from applying to a job online lol, it's best to go post your CV or better still phone up the job and ask for an interview...I'm sure they won't hold a prejudice against you because you're Canadian, if you're right for the job, then they'll hire you...

best of luck getting a job, I need one as well. :D
Reply:both would be the best idea.
