What jobs are highly available for someone with a b.s.c Computing?

You could work at a telephone call centre. Many of the thousands of recent graduates holding a BSC in Computing are doing just that. Unfortunately the trend is to site the call centres overseas leaving the graduates to wish that they has followed a more useful degree course like working shelf filling at TESCO or digging ditches for the council.

What jobs are highly available for someone with a b.s.c Computing?
I agree that call centres are a good option and fortunately for you the trend has changed and now more and more companies are recruiting employees for helpdesks in the UK. Being a PhD student in Compting, I receive e-mails from my peers for job vacancies that I can't actually apply for, since my research takes up most of my time.

The latest one I got yesterday and it concerns an IT helpdesk; you can have a look at the company at www.searchcallcentre.co.uk

The e-mail text says:

"At Search, our specialist Call %26amp; Contact Centre division is looking for

a number of individuals to join their client’s contact centre in Glasgow.

If you have an interest in the computer industry and enjoy working within

a technical environment, then this opportunity could be for you.

Our client is looking for experienced individuals to handle inbound customer

enquiries. Working as part of a large team, you will be the first point of

contact for customers and provide technical support. You will have a working

knowledge of Broadband/Internet and have extensive knowledge of Windows

operating systems. Knowledge of wireless newtworking and fault diagnosis

is essential. Relevant IT qualifications would be desireable, but not essential.

If this sounds like you and you would like to work for a progressive company

that can offer a sound future, then call Nadine Cossar or Tricia Paine on

0141 272 7812. Alternatively, email your cv to ncossar@search.co.uk"

This is by no means advertising, I just thought it could be helpful and if I were in your shoes, I would like somebody to give me a starting point. You can also check your local job centres and recruitement offices. Many of my friends got a job this way.

If you have recently graduated, you should also check the job vacancies at your university. From time to time, lab demonstrators and tutors are required; although this is not a full-time job, it can help you gain some money and work experience.

You can also have a look at these two websites that most of the afformentioned friends were looking at:

www.s1jobs.co.uk

www.prospects.ac.uk - check for graduate prospects

Hoep this helps, best of luck :)
