I am umemployed. I have lost several jobs b/c I CANT stand doing customer service. What do you suggest?

I want to work at a place I actually enjoy. I can't stand the phoniness of the employees at Robinson's May and Radio Shack (my former jobs). I am currently unemployed and desperate, but there is just no way I am going to stoop down and apply at a place like McDonald's or Starbucks (As my boyfriend suggested). What kind of job should I get, considering my personality?

Re-evaluate your skills and then find a job where you don't interact with customers often (if at all). If you don't have enough skills, then try to get some. There are jobs that don't require customer interaction (like overnight stocker, security guard, car detailer, etc). You just have to determine what you want to do and then go after it. If you work in retail, chances are you will work in front of the customer.
Reply:Do you have any education or special training past high school? If not, this would be a good time to start!
Reply:Look for a more behind the scenes employment opportunity. Perhaps you could look into a stocking job or shipping or maybe data entry... something where you don't have to be face to face with the public... Just a thought.
Reply:what credentials do you have? what do you like to work. add in the details.
Reply:I can understand completely... I have a very similar personality! For that reason, I am working from home. I have a friend who tells people "I am unemployable" because he cannot stand to work for someone else. Together we can help you achieve the happiness you desire! Take a look at this website and decide for yourself if it is something you feel you are willing to try! If you decide its worth a go, let us know and we will contact you to give you all of the details!
Reply:Try a temp agency. I swore I would never go to one of those places and I just happen to go to one. I am so glad I did. They have found me the best jobs I have ever had. They will work around your schedule. If they send u to a job you dont like you they will change you to something else.
Reply:Over the road truck driving. You can make up to $60,000 a year and you don't have to deal with many people at all. You can go to a truck driving school and they will pay for your training along with a contract with a national trucking company, so there is no out of pocket $ up front. I recommend Swift Transportation. You can find their phone number from 411.
Reply:I don't know how old you are or what schedule you want, but here are a couple ideas...

How about doing some admin work? Can you type and do you know how to use microsoft Word and Excel? Look up temp agencies in your area and they will give you an aptitude test and can place you in a job within a couple days!

Other ideas...What about working with kids? Maybe check out a local daycare or elementary school (in some places you don't have to be specialized to be a teacher's assistant or substitute.)

I know a restaurant is customer service, but it isn't retail. You can land a job as a Hostess or Server fairly easily and carry cash home your first day!

Hope that helps!!
